About Me

I was born and have lived most of my life in the South West of England. I come from a farming family, I love being outdoors and enjoy walking with my dog on the moors or on our beautiful coastline.

I’ve spent many years working therapeutically with adults, young people and children, and have experience supporting people through a wide range of emotional and mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression and grief and loss. I can support you with family, relationship, or parenting challenges, offering a warm, non-judgemental space to explore what’s happening and what you need. I have particular experience in helping people navigate feelings of guilt or shame, anger, and low self-esteem.

I concentrate on one-to-one working with people of all ages, and I am dedicated to confidentiality, professionalism and ethical practice.

What shapes me most as a counsellor is both my personal lived experience and professional training. I know what it’s like to feel stuck in painful emotional patterns, and I also know that real healing and change are possible. I believe in the strength and goodness within people, and I bring deep empathy, calm presence, and respectful curiosity to each person I work with, creating space for you to reconnect with your inner strength and find new ways forward.

I work primarily from a person-centred approach, and our work is led by what feels most important and meaningful to you. At times, and where it may be helpful, I may draw on ideas from other approaches such as Compassion Focussed therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or psychodynamic thinking, always in a collaborative, safe and respectful way.

I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and am committed to working ethically and professionally at all times.
